It is envisaged that learning materials be available to all three levels of schooling being offered at the Holy Rosary Parish Schools : Elementary, Primary and Vocational Training schools.

The locally run governmental schools: Anglimb Secondary School and the Kendepai Elementary School, as well as the Nazarene based Anglimb Commuinity School, all located in nearby villages, will also have access to this library for reading and educational purposes.

Community Library

These books would be available to all people within the Kuli Area, school children as well as adults.  "It should be a place where I can go to read whenever I am visiting my village." - Theresia

The venue is to be accessible to all other sub-parishes so people from the district will definitely benefit from it.

Resource Centre for Teachers

The Library would also be a centre from which teachers can source teaching books and materials to enhance their teaching and hence learning by their students. This would improve the educational standards of our children.

Employment Opportunity

It would provide employment for at least two local persons to run the library.

Knowledge Base

The illiteracy rate of Papua New Guineans is high (56.2% from 2000 census). "I aim to assist in raising the education level of students of the Kuli Area by setting up a library to provide learning materials (books) to boost education."

The emphasis is on broadening one’s knowledge and to keep reading as a fun activity.

AIMS and OBJECTIVES of THE PROJECT

"I, personally, as an educated local person and an educator, would be pleased to see this project happen and that it will be beneficial for the Kuli Area for years to come. My wish is that it is maintained and grows as the needs of the community develop further."
