Welcome to Holy Rosary Parish in the Kuli Valley

The sign at the entrance to the Catholic Kuli Mission station

This archway welcomes you to the Catholic Kuli Mission.

Two classrooms run at right angles to the entrance of the church which separates the two.

Preparation of the Junior Library

Floor preparation

Moving books from storage

This room gave away the evidence of the books with the distinctive banana boxes stacked by the windows!

They preferred to carry the books on their head.
Setup of the Junior Library

Books for Early Readers were tagged with a green tape at the base of the spine of the book.

The TVET lads had fun trying to assemble the desk from a picture of it. They enjoyed the challenge and worked well together to solve it.

The Library is all go!

Regina and Steven had completed the library training course offered by University of Goroko the previous week.

The plastic dividers kept falling over so we filled them with stones so that the fiction books could be alphabetically set up.

Distribution of books

Ten local schools were identified to receive books kindly donated to us by the Rotary Club.

Who would have believed that this could all happen within a year?
Launch of the Library - 5th November 2014

The celebrations begin with a local dance group entering the Mission Station singing and walking to the beat of the drums.

Marching in , blowing whistles

The invited guests walk through the line up of dancers and around to the stage.
